PostSubject: GM Sandbox, (in the works.)   Mon Jan 11, 2010 11:44 pm

Well, i got bored in GM so i decided to plan out and make a sandbox game, and stick to it. I usually drop a game before i get half way done.
So i would like to know what you guys would think is "cool". (please, i know this is a line rider forum. but this isn't a line rider like game. in case you didn't know, a sandbox game is like a build and destroy or just build.)
So here's what i already have:

*Block shape - used for walls
*Rectangle shape - used for walls or platforms
*Triangle shape - used as ramps or roofs for houses
*Bomb - blow stuff up!!
*Truck - ramp it off stuff and hit it against walls to blow it up!
What else should i make?

EDIT: i was thinking about unlocks but how would i make those in just a game where you control everything?

What do you mean by unlocks? You mean doors that can be unlocked by hitting another block? Thats easy, make one block destroy another type of block when hit, so you can place it where you want, and it will still work.

has anyone else tried "Atmosphir"??? it's a really cool sandbox-like game that is an rpg..... it's free right now, but once you sign up, you have to wait a week to get the activation code to download the actual game...

Its easy to set gravity different for certain objects. For each object, put in a set gravity and then set the direction and speed. Ta-da, different gravity for different items.

noo, just that there will be like 60 objects on the toolbar including settings and such. and then that is just all in modifing it so it works in gameplay.
